1983 Goldwing saddle bags

Postby 14cubby » Sat Aug 03, 2013 12:40 pm

Can anyone help me out. I have a 1983 GL1100 naked wing and would like to put saddle bags on it for more of a bagger look. I can't find any kits to mount aftermarket hard bags, or even hard sided leather bags to it. I am also pricing used interstate or aspencade bags to have repainted for the bike. What are your suggestions that may get this done and keep me on my budget?

Looking for suggestions on placing hard bags, or hard sided leather bags on my 83 Goldwing.

Thanks, Cubby

This my opinion only! The only bags that look good on a wing are Honda (As in bags off the interstate) or leather bags. All the other after market bag just don't look very good. And another opinion. If I had a standard that looked that good I wouldn't touch it so I would go with leather so I could remove them easily. Beautiful bike.

Thanks for the input. I agree on the looks of the Honda bags. But I also agree with your opinion on being able to remove them easily because I searched a long time to find this bike. Just wanted the convenience of throwing some weekend luggage on when I can get away. Thanks for the reply, and great looking bike to you too!

If you are looking for a quick dismount system and/or bags, have a look at this site. I have purchased from him before, and he provides a DVD of "How to" for his stuff, at least for the things that I purchased.

It may at least give you some ideas.
