Antsy

Postby tom84std » Tue Sep 03, 2013 7:29 pm

Leaving some time during the weekend of the 13th-15th for a last ride of this year through Colorado. Warm gloves and long underwear in tow, ride to Colorado Springs and meet my good friend who'll be riding my old '79. A dozen small towns, three or four mountain passes and a couple of night's snoring competition in a small tent. Highest paved pass in N. America, nice scenery just before the winter freeze. I feel like a five year old on the night before Christmas.

Have a good time Tom... it is a great time to ride Colorado.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Yeah Mag, last time in Colorado this year. I'm sure it's gonna be good and cold above 4000, that I'm not looking forward to. The best time for me has always been between late June-Mid August. But my friend wants to go so , here I go!

When you get to Colorado Springs...Stop for a hoagie..It's just off Interstate 25.East on filmore, south on Nevada....
A hole in the wall place, very old establishment.
I helped John back in the 70's with the wiring..John's gone now but the place hasn't changed at all.
There's no place to "dine in" but it's still the best Philly steak anywhere..I guarantee it...Just tell his son that "Smitty" sent you..It won't get you anything special, sorry.Maybe a bit of conversation.

Nice....looks like I will be rolling over Mt St Helens this weekend with 2-3 friends. Supposed to be mid 70s, so should be sweet. Enjoy your trip.
