just a few questions

Postby Delmarosalinda » Sat Sep 07, 2013 4:49 pm

I had bought a 89 gl1500 back in december and finally got it to where i can ride it. I notice the heal toe shifter seems to be in a bad place. I have to put the tip of my shoe under the valve case just to get to the toe shifter. Is there anything i can do about this?

I also notice it seems like im setting too far farward. Even though im fully in the seat. I feel bunched up. Anything i can do about this?

I love the ride and the smooth power of the bike. I just don't feel comfortable riding it just yet.

Any advice, suggestion or recomendations will be welcomed.
Thanks for your help.

Sounds pretty much normal for a Goldwing. If you are used to a cruiser, like the Shadow you have in your list of owned bikes, then this is exactly how you will feel till you either get used to it, or do some changing of things like the seat. The shifter is pretty much like it is, and probably cannot be altered. Once you get used to it, as long as you are not a real long drink of water (real tall with long legs) you will not find it so objectionable.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Your best bet is to go back to the stock foot peg and shifter. Either purchase an aftermarket seat built to your specs. $$$$. or have yours re-done (cut back) by an upholsterer.

I hear it is possible to move the trunk then redo the seat. Just don't like the way the shifter and brake pedal is
