Not really a Goldwing but....

Postby tom84std » Sun Sep 08, 2013 9:24 pm

I'm a little pumped. In 2005 I got fired up and began a project. Things changed, things went sour.....
I started this thing and worked hard on it for about a year. Totally rebuilt engine, built shifter, frame, linkages everything from scratch. I kinda lost interest, rolled it under a tree and tarped it. It sat for about five years. Divorce final, quit drinking, rejoined the living...
I had built a springer front but didn't like it. That's what began the "stalling out".
I dragged it out the other day. Inspected, serviced and fired up the engine, still perfect, fresh with zero miles and it still sounds excellent. Acquired a good extended Triumph front end. Machined an extended neck shaft today and got it mounted, adjusted, set up and ready for a wheel and tire. 2005 to mid 2013. It took a long time but it's back and better than ever.

It's like cleaning out a really bad closet you've been procrastinating on for a long time. Really feels good to get back on it and see a completion just around the corner!

Beaver man I once had elaborate plans for a passenger seat with storage inside armrests, built in stereo system, foot props to make the passenger comfortable. Now, the way I feel and the way I really want it.

NO passenger seat.
