A little part's rant.

Post by t2oldbikes » Wed Apr 28, 2010 5:11 pm

Recently I've needed to do a few things with my GL1100i. I needed a rebuild kit for my rear caliper, pistons for the same and may need rear wheel bearings.Ordered the pistons from Georgefix on E-bay and the kit and bearings from Parts and More. Everything was at a good price and fair shipping rates and all the parts arrived within 1-2 days.
This Tuesday I went to the local dealer as I needed another O-ring for the coolant crossover that is dribbling coolant. It's Thursday evening and I still don't have it.
Dealers around here complain about the internet competition hurting them. When I ordered the parts online I did not have to drive there to order and pay for them nor will I need to drive back to pick them up. Is there a lesson for parts departments here?
As a separate subject, this is a great site.Had I found it earlier it would have saved me a few bucks.
Thank you to all who contribute.
