Superex is an electronics manufacturer that has been around since the 1960's. They've made a TON of different things. We'll need a bit more information - more identifying marks perhaps, or maybe a picture of the insides.

I don't remember seeing any thing else on it. it is inside the radio compartment, connected to the radio. you cant get to it from the out side.

My guess since it is connected to the radio would be an amplifier. Have you attempted to turn it on and turn the control knob?

Nope. Everything was already disconnected when I found it.

Well then it won't hurt to rip it out and open it up. Take a picture of what's inside and we'll be able to give you a better answer. :)

I do believe that it is a power amplifier. Probably of a whopping 5-10 amps even! That is some vintage gear there. Superex did make a load of crap. Or I should say a lot of crap  I pulled a Superex amp out of an old Toyota back when I was in high school that was hooked to a plain 'ole AM radio. Made the static and alternator noise even louder! This box didn't even have a rheostat... just a power button. That was a bunch of years ago.
