Re: gates timing belts
As I understand it, Gates manufactures the belts for NAPA. I just put Gates T275's on mine. Amazon.com has them on sale for 12.98 ea.

Don't know if it's still the same, but Gates used to build the OEM belts for Mother Honda.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

Re: gates timing belts
Just put Gates on my 1978 GL1000 last weekend.
Bought them on ebay.
I didn't think at the time, but started wondering if these could be "real old" new Gates belts? The box looks pretty fresh and the belts look new, hope they are ok. They were not sold as NOS.
There is always something to worry about, so quit it! (I try to tell myself).

I'm sure there will be date codes of one kind or another printed on them. Whether or not you can decipher those into actual dates, I don't know.
