2006 GL1800 trailer hitch

Post by onelostsock » Tue Nov 26, 2013 10:45 am

Just bought a used Kompact Kamper Excell used. It will be my first experience at trailering and was wondering if I could get some feedback on the Add On hitch that is sold by Wingstuff.I want to get the trailer painted to match my bike so cost is be a little bit of an issue, and the hitch gets good reviews overall. We only will be using it once a year for a vacation of a week so I don't expect to load it very heavy. I was just curious as to any opinions as to the quality for the price, any idiosyncrasies it may have in the connection etc. Thanks for any valued opinions I may receive.

Wingstuff has 13 hitches for GL1800 bikes. Some for Gen 1 (2001-2010) and some for Gen 2 (2012 to present). Of the hitches they sell, these are the only ones I would recommend.

and this guy sells a hitch on ebay that is very close to the Kuryakyn (second one I listed) for about half the price

Please do not cheap out on your hitch. You do not want that trailer running down the road alone after the hitch breaks.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey
