New (to me) 1993

Postby rodee71 » Mon Dec 02, 2013 12:53 pm

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving at Virginia Beach, the Boardwalk Hotel, with my fiances' daughter and grandkids. While surfing (the web) Saturday night, found this black '93 Aspencade w/32,000 for sale. It was about an hour away, so we went yesterday and took a look. Long story short, she's ours now. We'll have to drive back down this w/e to pick her up. The 6 cd changer was a nice add-on. Runs strong. Wish us luck!

It's a beautiful bike and with only 32k on it that's hardly enough to break it in. The only thing that I would worry about would be the timing belts. If the maintenance records show that they have been changed in the last year or two then you are golden. Otherwise, plan on doing the job to save yourself an engine. I think that bike is going to give you many miles with many smiles. Ride safe.

Thanks, guys. Oh yeah, she's going to get the full treatment when I get her home, belts, fluid changes, brakes if needed. Nice thing, the voyager trike kit I bought and modified for my '82 1100, I can re-modify back and it fits the 1500. So looking forward to spring! Ride safe.

Got her home Saturday night. Snow hit and she's still parked on the trailer in the driveway with a cover on her. Too slick to unload until I can back her into the garage after I clear 8" of snow.

Beautiful ride! I have a black 'Wing that's in the process of being triked. Can't wait to see mine all done! Black shows very well on the 1500! A lot harder to keep clean, but always worth the effort!

After doing your maintenance, you'll be set . That's one of my favorite areas to ride the backroads and and my '93 aspy has been rock reliable. Very tough bike to beat, even for the age!

The Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway...Shenandoah River and Valley...Corridor 'H' from Wardensville thru Moorefield, WV...Hard to beat for the scenery. Who needs drugs to get high when you have altitudes like these? Come on, Spring!
