Kuryakyn VS Add on ring of fire

Postby captainkyle » Sat Dec 21, 2013 10:31 pm

I was wondering if any one knew how the Kuryakyn Ring of Fire compared to the Add on. The Add on is quite a bit cheaper. I don't mind paying more if the Kurakyn is better. Thanks in advance

Kury is the only supplier that I keep seeing threads/posts about chrome going bad in just a few months on some of their parts!
I have experienced poor chrome durability on the floor boards and the flat luggage rack.
As compensation for this I was give a set of the passenger foot rests last spring.
Guess what???
They are rusting already around the area where the set screw is, that is used to adjust the "attitude" of the pegs!
In Kury's defense. They do seem to replace a lot of these parts, even after the warranty expires. My passenger pegs were given to me after I complained about my floor boards that had "blistered" chrome right out of the box and the flat rack that the chrome started peeling off of within 6 months of pruchase.
As far a ADD ON, my understanding is they are closing their doors, going out of business. Won't be around much longer, should one need customer service!
Mine are Custom Chrome and have been in service since Aug of 06 and are still "like new" and all the lights still work!

I have had Kury on my 05 approx. 3 years and have had no issues with peeling chrome or the lights.

Add-On Accessories is done. I believe their final day of operation was Friday. There will be stock left in some dealers that placed orders, but they have closed their doors, and nobody has bought any of their production/manufacturing equipment, so their products are now gone.
