Is it Spring yet

Postby nitefuzz » Sun Jan 12, 2014 9:41 pm

January 12th now and winter is dragging............... have work to do on the wing but it has been to cold out in the shop. Have a propane heater but the fumes get to bad in order to get it warm enough to work. Have to wait for some better weather, maybe towards the end of February. For now the wing is waiting just like me.

Projects to do:
1) replace timing belts
2) install power ports in both fairing trays, and one of the saddlebags
3) mount passenger kick panels
4) locate a spot for GPS mount
5) change air filter
6) install armrests (for the wife)

and all of the other little things here and there that you end up doing while your working on other projects.

Sometimes I wish I never moved to Alaska, our "spring" is really almost when its summer. I will have snow probably through mid may around the house, and where is my 95 GL1500?

in the house, actually its parked where the hot tub was.

Couldn't live in Alaska,................. the older I get, the more I hate winter and the cold that comes with it. Northern Indiana is bad enough for being long cold winters, but what we get is nothing compared to Alaska winters. Just want to fire up the wing and ride.

Without drifting far off and getting political I can say Alaska is to me at least a far better place to be recently what with the turmoil going on all across the country, we have jobs and its still a frontier here unlike many new nanny states, so I am not leaving just because of the long winters, and I am 57.

I tool the bike out for a ride yesterday! It was 54 degrees here in Nebraska yesterday. Felt good to be back on two wheels again!
