Driving light lens covers; yellow or amber

Postby mitch7022 » Thu May 06, 2010 8:56 am

I want to increase the visibility of my dark blue wing by putting colored lens covers on my OEM driving lights. EC offers them in amber and yellow. Which would be best to increase visibility to decrease the number of vehicles pulling out in front of me?

Im not sure about the color, but have you ever given a thought about using a light modulator to make your high beams flash during the daylight hours?

I am still considering a headlight modulator, but thought I would go with the yellow/amber driving lights for now. Thanks/John

I can attest that the modulator works, I cant tell you how many people catch me at a stop light and tell me that my "alternator" is malfunctioning and making my headlight flash. ;)

With the headlight modulator:
Do you run it in all traffic conditions?
Has anyone ever pulled out in front of you, possibly thinking you are flashing your lights as a sign of giving them the right of way?

Legally, you can only run it during daylight hours. I think that its a Federal reg and thus, is good for all states. AdminWing posted something about this with the law as well, some time ago. I printed it and placed it into my bags in case deputy doo-right pulls me over for it.
So far, no one has pulled over to let me pass them, thinking Im a Police Officer. LOL. BUt Im sure that day will come soon. ;) Society is a scary place.

I can also attest to the effectiveness of the headlight modulator. I have people tell me they see it all the time. Never had anyone pull over for me yet though!
