no more Harley's

Postby heymandavid14 » Tue May 11, 2010 4:03 pm

I lost my job a year ago and had to sell my 07 screamin eagle road king (for a loss on top of it). I thought i would have to spend the summer watching other people ride by. My wife came home from work one day and told me that a 60 year old man that she works with had bought a 1983 aspencade for his first bike about a year ago. He never rode it it was to big of bike for him and he wanted to sell it. I told my wife we would go look at it and see but once a harley man always a harley man. NOT TRUE. I bought the gold wing for 1500 dollars with only 27000 miles on it, it needed a good cleaning but runs great. I have never had a bike more comfortable to ride, Plus I can hear the radio over the exhaust.

I have been offered $3500 for it. and have turned it down, i figured I could get another bike as nice for 3500.00. This Bike did need some work as you can tell from my other postings on this site, but everything has been fixed and I didn't have to put anymore money into it, just follow some tips that you and some others had giving me THANKS

Well I hope you find another job and enjoy the bike.. As mentioned, great price for the bike and very low mileage for it's age.

My wife and I went to a bikeweek in Phoenix a while back and really enjoyed all the action, but felt a little out of place with our 94 goldwing se. Its what I could afford ($5500.00)last summer and was tired of being without some kind of bike. Its a little tricky cornering at slow speeds, but is really comfortable on the highway. Dont think I need a $25,000 dollar bike just cause it says H-D on it. I put a new belt tensioner on it and belts, new speedo cable and rear tire and got the cruise control working with a little electronic parts cleaner. Also put a K&N air filter in it. Too bad the parts/service manuals arent online any more, couldnt have done it without it, saved 3 hrs shop labor just on the air filter.
