Where's the beef?

Postby Radioflyer » Sat May 24, 2014 12:38 am

I enrolled because I was lead to believe I could get a Honda GL1200 service manual here. I mean the real one. After going through the registration I don't find the manual even listed but I did get shoved off to some site where I could buy a Helm manual. Can someone tell me what's going on?
Thanks

Honda required that all "Honda" branded service manuals be removed from this site, due to copyright infringement, so some are not available. You can get a Haynes Service Manual for your 1200 here:

http://goldwingdocs.com/Docs/Honda%20Go ... -78200.pdf or here:

You can get a Honda Branded Service Manual here:

http://goldwingdocs.com/Docs/Honda%20Go ... -78200.pdf

These are listed on the Site Front Page under the Downloadable Manuals Section.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

The only down load I found was a parts diagram for the whole bike, was just the ticket for me. I than ordered the helm manual for 45 bucks, best money I spent, to give step by step and dismantling order and tech things like torque and such.

Thanks fishinrod,
I have a third party manual. I was just trying to find an original Honda service manual. As it turns out I've found a Goldwing repair shop and the stator is being replaced as I write.
Thanks for the suggestion and reply.
Also thanks to themainviking for the information about Honda requiring their manuals being removed. It's too bad they think someone is going to steal their ideas on how to make a bad stator and put it in a most difficult location. I probably know at least 100,000 people who would like to steal their ideas on the 85 now. Too bad the Honda dealers don't want to repair the problem! They say they are too old to work on. I think it's more like they wouldn't pay the older service people who knew them enough and the new people that were hired to replace the good service people don't want to work that hard for what their getting paid. Oh well.
