Has anyone used this seller ?

Postby Uncle Fester » Sun Jun 29, 2014 5:32 pm

I need to get brakes on Ol'Blue right away, on our last ride this weekend she started growling when braking, so I parked her until I can do the brakes so as not to damage the rotors or any thing else.
Locally I have found brakes at $28-$35 a set, this seller has ALL three sets for $32.98 & free shipping. Thoughts ?

Shipping is about 8-12 days from what the seller added as a note on the bottom of the
SHIPPING / PAYMENT page .

If I wanted to get new brakes right away, I don't think I would use a seller that will take three weeks to get the parts to you, especially if it is from Hong Kong. There is no telling what the quality of the pads are.

Yes, agree with the above comment. Also, you might have to pay import duties/additional taxes on imports form Hong Kong.

The other downside is if they arent correct what the cost of shipping them back will be. Their shipping costs to the US are a lot less and it would be cheaper to keep them if they dont fit than to ship them back for a refund.

And if you did ship them back, what are the chances that you would ever hear from the vendor again.... experience speaking here..... :(

I would check with Wing Stuff, or Shinopples, or Chrome World, or HDL and see what their prices are. At least they will know the correct product to send you.

All very valid points, and I did think about those issues ( after posting this ) and decided to go with a local vender, purchased a set of front and the rears for $65.00 and have them in hand now.

The front (hand) break is working fine, no growling on usage, so I am just doing the linked brakes this week, and the other in two or three weeks.

Now's the best time to "Flush" out the old brake fluid (clean it all up) and put in new! Doesn't take long and gives you "Peace of mind"!
I also do the Clutch at the same time!
