Requested Pics. here you go!

Postby achowler1 » Tue May 25, 2010 5:44 pm

I took a pic of my 1983 Aspencade after several requests. Here she is!!!!!! Just watched the odometer roll over to 25,000 miles today. The evolution of this bike was so fun. Head gaskets and carb rebuild first year. Second year (this season) new tires , wheel bearings and brakes.

It looks like mine!!

This is what I picked up for $500 - had to do front tire, fork seals, and lots of detailing.

Still sweet!! How's your heel/toe shifter working out? Mine keeps coming loose. tried Loctite. Still came loose. Maybe I didn't "goop" it up enough.

With my big flippers, I call it a heel-heel shifter.

It hasn't come loose as of yet. Keep in mind that I only put two tanks of fuel through so far.

more to clean...more to remove for maintenance... but, I do like it.

also, you can pass time watching the volt meter drop when all the lights are on.

It was a friend of a friend that was moving and needed cash quick.
The bike had been sitting for 2 years in the basement of a wood shop.
He set the price so, my conscience is clean.
It has 32K on it.

I had a 77 wing that I sold for $1000 so, I am actually ahead of the game.
Oh yeah, I had to put a battery in it as well - wish I sprang for the good one - this walmart special is screaming for mercy when all lights are on.

Sounds like a good reason to update to LED lights everywhere!! As if we need justification to buy goodies for these machines.. :D
