Well, I finally got her out on the highway, and out here in GODS country, the open road is vastly open. Took my cell phone of course just in case. Plan was to travel a mere 30 miles , just to familiar myself with her, see how she handled and so on.
First and most obvious occurrence involved fumes coming up from the muffler. Her muffler is pretty riddled with holes . Upon deceleration, she backfires , so the muffler fix is a definite.
The second occurrence involved the front end displaying some bouncy bounce, especially at higher speeds. Nothing extreme but a sure investigation into maybe changing to progressives.
Thirdly, takes adjusting to the gears. Tend to chatter when pushing too hard.
Overall, very pleased with her, and boy she has some power captain!!
On the return home, the clutch lever lost tension and of course I could not change gears, but managed to make it home .
I did change out the clutch fluid and have taken her out since with no clutch issues.
That's about it, I am really enjoying this bike . Just have to add the rear trunk and I'm through for now.
