Newbie :)

Postby RacerM95 » Wed Aug 13, 2014 6:34 pm

Good Evening ! I am a 1st time owner of a 1977 GL-1000.. Not my 1st bike, just the first Goldwing.. I look forward to discussions and picking some of the brains out there, to help restore my bike :)

Ride like you are invisible, Because you are ! Only 2 exceptions to that, 1) You ride a Harley, They hear ya coming a mile away ! 2) You ride a Goldwing, You are too dayum big to miss !!!!!

You sound as though you are not a Newbie to motorcycling, just one that has seen the benefits of riding Gw - it might have taken a while, but eventually the realisation comes through. Photos are always welcome, as well.

Hello and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. Also welcome to the world of Gold Wings. Keep us updated on your rebuild, send pictures. We have a lot of subjects on file already that you may be able to use, but some of your work somebody else may be able to benefit from your experience. Thank you.

Racer, you did not list any area or town/city/village in Canada, but I would guess Ontario somewhere. You could be a bit more specific and might find that you have list members living near you. Welcome to the list. Our Administrator and Site owner, WingAdmin is very knowledgeable on older wings, as are quite a few others. I would put all their names in this post, but if I missed one or two, there might be hard feelings, so no go on that deal. The Sault Ste Marie Gold Wing Road Riders Association chapter has a campout in their fair city in the beginning of September each year, and attracts GWRRA members from all across Ontario and Michigan. This year it is on the 5-6 of September at the KOA campground in SSM. Non members of GWRRA can camp at the KOA and meet GWRRA members as well.

I would love to make a trip over to the Soo. Maybe if you let me know when you are there I will be able to make it also. I live in the south Central U.P. so I would be about 4 hours from there. But I don't even have a passport, so I have to do that first. So give me a ballpark idea when you are going to be there. Thanx.Bud.

Thanks Racer for updating. This list has other members from Winnipeg, so if you need assistance now, they will be able to come to your aid.
