trying to hook up trailer wiring

Postby roadwanderer2 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 8:29 am

good morning ppl's.

I rebuilt my pull behind trailer and bought new trailer lights for it and im trying to rewire the entire trailer, IE: tail lights and side marker lights. I got as far as being able to wire the trailer, but im having a problem wiring the bike side of the harness. this harness doesn't have wires for the separate signals that are on the aspencade, the left stop/turn and tail wires are one wire and the right stop/turn and tail light is also only one wire. since the signals and tail lights are separate, how do I run the wires for the turn signals? do I need to get a different type of wire harness for this? :? any advice?

You will need a 5 to 4 wire converter. http://cyclemax.com/inc/searchresults?s ... r&n=863158
This is just one shown as an example. Most auto parts stores will carry them.

hey dingdong:

thanks, I'll take a look at it. I was hoping I could get away without spending MORE money on this thing, but it looks like im goanna have to do it. I sorta remember a friend of mine having to do the same thing to his '83 silverwing interstate when he hooked his trailer lights in, in fact, I took the bike over to a U-Haul place and they did it for him, and trust me, it wasn't cheap either.
