I'm new here.

Post by Dan SR » Sun Aug 17, 2014 4:55 am

Hello, I'm Dan. New here and not sure how this whole forum thing works or where to post this but working on figuring it out.
I recently purchased a 1986 Goldwing Aspencade SEI with 33,000 miles on it. This is my first Goldwing but am liking it so far. Been riding motorcycles since 1970, (44 years now).
My Goldwing is the 22nd motorcycle I've owned over the years. My last bike was a 2011 Harley Davidson Tri Glide. We had some reduction in income that we had no control over so had to sell the HD to lose the payment. Payed cash for the Goldwing. I'm one of those people that it really doesn't matter to me what make bike one rides. The wind is the same for everyone.
Hoping to meet some nice people here and learn some about my bike.

Welcome Dan. Sorry to hear about your downturn, but congrats on picking up the Wing. You have come to the right place both for meeting good people and for learning about your bike.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Morning Dan SR, and welcome.....yes, everyone was new here....once, lol. Hope you enjoy this little hang-out, and of course sorry for your change of ride cuz those tri-glides are nice, and I totally agree, the wind is the same. Yesterday's wind was fantastic, hoping I will have time to compare with today's wind, and maybe tomorrow too, lol.

Hello Dan and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. Sorry about your loss of the HD but I believe the GW is an upgrade, but that is only MY opinion. If you have any questions about your new to you ride don't be afraid to ask. Ride safe.

Greetings from a misplaced Iowan. Nice to see another local on the forum. The wife and I got back into riding 3 years ago after being away for 23 years and a Wing was the most affordable option. Considering we were only going to go for short rides now and then it has been a blast. We've vacationed over a lot of the midwest and traded up to a newer wing. We are looking at newer and bigger again. Like you I like just paying cash. We usually just take off on our own, but sometimes ride with a small group. If your going to be out on a ride some weekend message me and we'll meet up to talk Wings and log a few miles.
