Friday Vintage Bike Night in Cleveland

Postby WingAdmin » Tue Jun 01, 2010 8:52 pm

I picked up this flyer somewhere at the Cleveland bike show a few months back. I went out a few weeks ago and met some great, friendly people and saw some great old bikes, including a couple Wings (and a Silverwing!).

The weather looks fantastic for this Friday, so I'll probably head out there if anyone else wants to meet up!

Here's the parking lot where the meet is, right behind the Steak and Shake.

I`d join you, but I don`t like driving through Cleveland at rush hour. The guy that bought my Water buffalo is up there, he showed me how to get there a few weeks ago. I usually go to Brunswick on Sat. night. Last week there was a GL1100 with a sidecar there. Sat morning I will be at the engine show in Columbia station if it don`t rain.

I'm halfway there when I'm at my office, so I'll head right up.

Last time I went up, I ended up doing some quick repairs first, and didn't leave home until 8 pm - got there around 8:45, still quite a few people around. No traffic!

Where's the one in Brunswick on Saturday?

Laurel Square shopping center, corner or Pearl and Laurel, look for Mc Donalds. Just a general cruise in, but prety large some really high end cars there. Last week there was a bare metal 289 Cobra, really neat because you could see how they did the original body work ie adding the fender flares etc. The bikes park behind the restaurant. A few weeks ago a guy pulled in with a 83 regal brown Interstate just like mine.

Looks like I'm going to give this evening a pass, the rain looks to be starting to roll in, and they're calling for thunderstorms this evening. We'll try again next Friday!

Looks good out there now. Did you get that mini-tornado yesterday? I just put my bike away then it hit. Rain blowing sideways, hail, tree across the street from me fell down. Then it stopped and the sun was out, about 15 minutes total.

Alright, going to give this another try. The weather looks PERFECT for tomorrow (the 11th), so I'm going to head out there after work.

My wife called from Strongsville and said it's sprinkling there, but up closer to the lake it's clear and actually sunny. Regardless, looking at radar, it's a very small line of precipitation, should be gone within the hour. Still heading out tonight for around 6!

Looks like gorgeous weather today and tomorrow, so I think I'll try heading out to this bike night again tomorrow (Aug 27th). Anyone want to go?

hiya, yes, I'd be interested in meeting you over there. Name here is Dwight and I am down in the Kenmore area of Akron. I ride a 2-tone beige-ish '85 Aspencade w/ 77k plus a few hundred--already noticed I've put on almost 2.5k mi since I got her in early March. I have read this section over several times since you first posted, but never have been able to find time, howwever I really want to go over there. There is a bike gathering down south of here a bit off I-77 @ Quaker Steak & Lube north of Belden Village mall on every Wednesday evening, but I have not made that one either other to pass by. If you do definitely then I will show up as well! Sure beats sitting on my bottom.

I really wanted to go, but got hit with a couple of 'honey- do' chores at the last minute. Also wanted to go over to Brunswick, but t.h.o. decided she wanted to go down to Belden Village for dinner and she's developed a stubborn streak to riding and won't get on again. Thought I had her broke of this several weeks ago when I was aable to get her to assume the position and we went down to Belden Villlage for dinner, then...oh well, I/m not gonna give up as it's still prime riodin' wx!!!

I ended up being stuck at work until late. But the weather looks fine this week, so I think I'll plan for this Friday instead.
