Going really fast

Postby WingAdmin » Mon Sep 29, 2014 9:23 pm

I know this has absolutely zip to do with motorcycles, but being appreciative of fine machinery, I figured some might appreciate this. This is a video I took on Saturday, when a friend took me for a ride in his Ferrari 599 GTB:

Dug the audio, sounds fast just going around a turn, but I especially love how the video started out when you first started out....and all I saw was a dash, like I was "a lil ol lady from Pasedena".....LOVED IT!

Would that motorcycle be on the Isle of Man? It surprises me that they are allowed to race there with so little in the way of safety items: no straw bales; lots of stone walls; houses to the footpath. Wow! They must have nerves of steel.

The world is not going to finish today, as it is already tomorrow in Australia and New Zealand, and other islands of foreign nations such as Guam and Samoa.

Yes, it's the Isle of Man. Unfortunately it took the lives of two riders this year. Each lap of the island is just short of 38 miles. They have been racing there since 1911 - except during the war years. It certainly tests man (and some women) and machine.
