Mystery Trikes

Postby seabeechief » Fri Nov 14, 2014 5:34 pm

I saw the "Mystery" trike conversions at the Lone Star Rally in Galveston last weekend. Have any of you any experience with them? www.mysterydesigns.com. The Stingray body is really cool, but will not fit on a Goldwing. The X-Body kit will fit it is also very good looking. If you know anything about them I will appreciate your input. Thanks.

I don't care much for the design with a single brake rotor for two wheels, DFT and American Trike use the same configuration as its cheaper to make. I'd rather have one rotor per wheel. If their unit is like DFT and American where they reuse the original Goldwing drive line. I had seen them on HDs at Bike Week a few years back and wasn't impressed. For what if will cost you, you may want to look into a Champion or Roadsmith for self installation. JMHO

I have the feeling from looking at their website and the converted GL1800 that they recycle the original Goldwing drive.
DD they have one I got the pic.

Thanks guys. Self installation is not going to happen, of that I am positive. I have been looking at Motor Trike and CSC. There are definitely Mystery kits for Goldwings. I will revisit the disc brake information. I think both wheels should have brakes for sure.

I had gone to the site to find the pic for DD to see.
You would want a brake for each wheel. If you look at DFT and American Trike you'll see the same design rear axle.
Have you looked into: Lehman, Champion, Roadsmith and Hannigan?
Test ride the trikes before you make a decision. Long wheelbase independent suspension conversions ride better.

Trike Lady, I will explore several trike kits before I make a decision. Actually, I have browsed the websites of most of them and Motor Trike is at the top of the list so far. But I will seek the advice and counsel of the experiences of the fine people on the forums. Thanks.
