What do you want for Christmas?

Postby WingAdmin » Sun Nov 30, 2014 1:23 pm

I handed over a list to my wife and included a few motorcycle-themed ideas, a couple that I thought I might share.

First is the Helinox Chair One. This is a tiny 2-lb chair that folds up to almost nothing to store in your saddlebag, but is strong enough to hold a 320lb occupant.

Second was a set of Polk 501 speakers to replace the tired OEM speakers in my GL1500.

If you've got some ideas, please share - perhaps help one another out with items that we could add to our own list!

A strong and healthy left ankle so I can be out fixing my bike so I can ride again. Parts should be here by Tuesday.
Ride safe, and smart. Asphalt is like #1 grit sandpaper. Dave

Woke up this morning in St. Paul, Minnesota to see -2 degrees on the thermometer. Warm socks and gloves would be welcomed under the Christmas tree!!!

A pile of coal and a coal burning stove would be good today in chilly Minnesota!

They do, actually: Polk DB501's fit in the front and DB401's fit in the rear of GL1500's.

If you send me a PM with your address, I will take care of this gift, and happy to do it, with all you do for us on this forum.

As far as my wants???? Peace on this old earth would be nice. Not likely, but it would be nice.

My Wing is new to me so I'm still finding out stuff about it. Some front speakers would be nice, the rear speakers have been replaced by a PO as it has new looking Kenwoods. I/we don't listen to music much but it sounds terrible with the rotten front speakers and I'd just like it to be "right". A motorcycle jack would be nice, I'm dreading the rear tire change as I'm used to a BMW with four lug bolts and clear access. Other than those items, it's time, money, and weather.

Thanks viking, I do appreciate this...but I have a feeling this item on my list has already been claimed by someone. :)

My wonderful wife volunteers her mornings once or twice a week at the local Ronald McDonald House - this is a charity run at most large hospitals by McDonald's, that provides food, beds, and other necessities of life for families whose children are hospitalized, and can't otherwise afford it. They also provide just a quiet place away from the hospital, things to keep sibling children entertained, and so on.

She just informed me that she is giving up her Christmas morning to go in and volunteer, as nobody else was volunteering to do it, and she couldn't stand the thought of those poor people in the hospital with nowhere to go on Christmas morning.

I definitely married a "keeper." :)

Well, okay, but I had a set of them, brand new, just sitting here. When I upgraded the speakers on my 1800, I bought two pairs, and then found out the front ones are larger, so I ended up with a spare set. Let me know if you change your mind.

Yup, I love it. You need a Tire Machine to use it though.

How about we bring all out service men and women home so THEY can ride too ???..... Let everyone fight their own fights and kill each other off instead of putting our troops in harms way.....

schr8er2000 - Gotta say I've been wishing for that for many years. I'm with ya on that. In lieu of that, I'm hoping for an 80's Ibanez musician series guitar. Likely won't have much luck with that one either. So the final wish is an early end to winter - would like to be riding again in early March.

I bought this Tingley Class 3 high visibility, lined, waterproof jacket and pants for my fiance and me for Christmas. See it here: http://workingperson.com/searchengine/solr?q=j26112. Very well made and DOT approved for working in high speed work zones in Virginia. And the jacket and matching pants were under $80.00 w/shipping.

I am just learning acoustic guitar now, something that I started with my daughter, and she lost drive. My mom had a 1960s something Gibson B15 so will be learning from the ground up.

Then of course, no war would be a good thing but that is unfortunately not going to happen. I have a brother in service as a Major and he has already had 4 trips, and now his assignment may change again which means he may go again.

For now, let me keep the strength in my legs to throw my foot over the seat and ride on, keep on riding, don't stop riding ;)

Happy Hodilays everyone! (yes it is backwards, but unique)

As I've read what the rest of you have written, I've tried hard to think of what I would like for Christmas. There are many things I'd like to have, but I can't think of a single thing I need. I already have my health, the love of a Good Woman, 5 healthy children, and more loyal and loving dogs than any man has a right to have around him at any one place and time... and I have work.

So, instead of putting my wish list up, I'll just say thanks for making my 2014 happier, more educational and more worthwhile than it would have been without all of you. May you all have a Merry Christmas or a Happy Holiday season if Christmas isn't celebrated in your home.
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

Gosh Darn  , I have no idea what I may want,,, I have everything I could want already, I can't think of anything but maybe a cleaned out garage....Oh I kinda like those fancy tool boxes with casters, you know, with the nice draws .... I use a old dresser for my tools, that works great....Maybe a fancy spot lamp for night time....Probably would work fine with the extra juice I get from the alternator conversion, yep one plug in to the light spot light would be cool...This way I can seek bigfoot...
