TIMING BELT SCAM!
This is a copy of a thread that was on-going on NGW

Try these guys: http://web.landfaller.net/discountsalep ... -9652.html They are selling those belts for $9 USD each and offer International shipping.
Well, I emailed these guys two days ago with an offer to buy in quantity if they could supply genuine Gates belts.
Result? Nothing!
Doug and I spent a good 20 minutes screen sharing on Skype on their site. We came to the conclusion that it was a well set up scam site. But just in case it wasn't, I sent the email. Seems we were right.
OK. Listen up! Do not order anything from this site!
Since I had no reply to an email that any legit company would have jumped on, I looked into this further. After a lot of checking I have found this is a Chinese scam site that at best will sell you fake goods but much more likely will send you nothing and keep your money. KEEP AWAY!
I guess it is the usual story. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

'Impossible' is just a level of difficulty! The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask first!

As usual...a deal "too good to be true", IS... Thanks for the research and heads-up.
Re: TIMING BELT SCAM!
I just placed a BS order for 100 belts.
Used a fake name, address, etc. and went through there system to pay for these BUT didn't pay.
They're being sent as if they were paid for.

Re: TIMING BELT SCAM!
thanks for letting people know, however,
if anyone relies on the security of their Goldwing engine to $9 timing belts, then it must be said that they make some rather poor choices, especially after reading all the extensive posts about timing belts on Goldwings on this site alone. for me:......
I'll have a "Gates" please, make it two! NAPA/Gates is fine, thank you.

Re: TIMING BELT SCAM!
Apparently, my post above can be misread to make someone think that WinGovations is the scamming site.
Please read the post again if you have any doubts. You will note that the poster is the same as the poster in the message. I was informing the Wing community of a scam site in China, before anyone went there and got ripped off.
I can assure you that Wingovations.com is anything but a scam site! Doug Snavely (Cyborg) and myself John Evans (Old Fogey) are very well known in the Goldwing community and we have been running this site since 2009.
Check us out on http://www.nakedgoldwingclub.com for confirmation of this.
Or click the banner below to go and check us out on our site. We think you will find that we are the genuine article.

Re: TIMING BELT SCAM!
My (fake) order was at the {web.landfaller.net} website, not yours.
I just checked back there and so far I see no change in that website.

Re: TIMING BELT SCAM!
I didn't think you meant mine.
I spent more than 30 minutes today trying to prove this was a scam one way or another.
What I found was disturbing enough to warrant what I said above. Various forums that had complaints about non receipt of good, goods being shoddy and counterfeit, no refunds, non reply to emails etc.
The web page for the Gates T274 says that they have sold 81 belts. Good going since they also say that they were put in stock on 26th Nov! But..... refresh the page 10 seconds later..82....another 10 seconds...84........then 94 ......then, strangely, 84 ........yeah, right!

Ya, seen the lower left column change also.
There currently are 9888 guests and 2086 members online.
Refreshed page and 2 seconds later...
There currently are 2920 guests and 2474 members online.
Repeated the refresh several times. Looks familiar?
