Well who rode on Christmas Day?

Postby tom84std » Thu Dec 25, 2014 10:01 pm

The winds from right now through March are usually from the South and they're strong and cold. Not as cold as a North wind, but still cold. We got in a few miles despite the wind and cold. My wife just began riding and she's like a kid with a new toy. I could take it or leave it, but I know how badly she wants to, so I go. Rode to the kid's house and right back home for the rest of the day.

I was tempted for the first time in many years. Could not believe how nice the weather was, sunny all day, it did not feel cold, and there is no salt on the roads yet.

Not I said the Viking. Although I could probably have weathered the temperatures, the roads here are covered in ice, snow, salt, sand and water. (dirty water full of salt)
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

I went for a short ride. It was perfect... mid 50's and sunny AND I filled the tank for $1.98 a gallon of gas.
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

Still can't ride, but the temp was in the 60s all day. Worked more on the Grandkids than the bike.

Ok I'm just jealous of the mid 50's, but damn

I pay more than that for a litre.

Didn't get in a ride on Christmas day but got about 70 miles in yesterday. Weather is supposed to be even better today so I'm planning to get some miles in today as well....

No riding on Christmas at all, I was too busy entertaining kids and parents, and keeping stuff moving.

Now, this weekend also is not happening, have to get the last of football season in to see who makes the playoffs....also the biggest mistake made this Christmas
- Wife bought me an Xbox One (yes, I am also a gamer)
- Would not work with my old 52 inch large console screen
- Had to buy a new TV....and let me tell you if you have not updated your electronics since the console TVs, you better start thinking about it. Of course, a 65 inch will be more than large enough for when my eye sight really goes south.

"HE MISSED THE TAG!!!!" (I will actually be able to see it to see if the tag was missed or not, lol)

Couldn't get out on Christmas day, with all the travel to visit various family, but have been riding almost every week here in the usually snowy north east. I've gotten out every day since Christmas. The temps have ranged from the 50s to the low 30s, but as long as the roads are clear, I ride. Kudos to your Mrs., for showing you how it's done

The 1500 has far more leg room. I know I was a bit cramped on the 1100 with my long legs, no such problem on my 1500.

Too cold and rainy over the Christmas holiday to go riding, but its supposed to be in the 60's early next week. I may pull out the GW then and do a little 100 mile ride. No salt used in CA, but they put sand on the roads. Got to be careful........

Christmas day didn't work out for me, I was up at 230 am, the filler hose to the ice maker sprung a bad leak and flooded the kitchen floor and was like a rain storm pouring through the floor into the basement. Got it all patched up and cleaned up at 4 am, didn't quite recover enough from the interrupted sleep and bit of a hangover to get any ride in, but as I try every year, I rode about 15 miles on New Years day once the temp got up to above freezing. It was a good ride, hardly any cars on the road.

SO! You are the culprit! You are the one letting your ice maker run amok at 0230, and making the rest of North American suffer so that they cannot ride their mc on Christmas Day. There is so much ice now, that most of the NE corner of the continent is ice bound. All because of your ice maker!
