Have you ever ????

Postby littlebeaver » Thu Feb 12, 2015 2:45 pm

Have you ever had to pee so bad that you couldn't quite make it to the next rest area or filling station? What do you do....? I'm curious... Are we grown up enough to speak of this? I will tell you what I do but only after a few people post first...

Ok good enough,,, I'm usually always on the Interstate, in the case of an emergency and I simply won't make it, I will pull over to the shoulder and park the bike at angle but not too much,,, I always carry a plastic glass,,, I get on my knees as if I was working on the bike away from traffic so nobody can see anything but my head and I go in the plastic glass, see it won't splash on you off the ground this way, if someone pulls up you can stop if you have too... that hasn't happened yet.. Only had to do this once...this is an emergency only situation after all..

You are more restrained then me. I had one of those moments when stopped in a traffic jam. We were actually off the bikes just standing around and I took aim at the jersey wall in the middle of the road. Felt much better afterward.

Well yes,

Having lived in a remote area of Australia for a few years - and being a sales rep - I had the necessary requirements and emregency supplies just in case of a breakdown hours from nowhere. when the needs arose- then it was just a matter of finding a tree big enough to stand behind - but there was no one around for 100 miles so it didn't really matter. The emergency supplies consisted of:

2 spare tyres
10 gallons of fuel
2 tins of baked beans
6 cans of beer
and a roll of toilet paper.

Well, Beav - #2 has a place in this thread as well.... I had some stomach upset one time, and what I did was stop under an overpass, run about two thirds of the way up the far side, drop trow and take care of business. Some kleenex tissues served to clean me all up, and the rest would have to await the next rain storms. It is, after all, biodegradable. Any of the traffic going the same way as I was had no chance of seeing what I was doing, and the traffic on the other side of the four lane plus median were a bit far to be seeing much. It is an embarrassing incident to report, but hey, as was mentioned above - when you gotta, you gotta. Sure felt better afterwards, and got the heck outta the area, lickitysplit.

Ditches work well. You can pull off to the shoulder, walk down into the ditch, passing cars can't see you, truck drivers can, but do they care?

On a horrible, rainy day in North Carolina the ditches were full of water, so I pulled the bike off onto the shoulder just past an overpass and helped fill the ditch.

In Utah ditches were far and few between, but there were lots of huge rocks, so I pulled off to the side near a big rock and just walked around the back side of the rock.

Just make sure the wind is at your back!!

Hate to say it....never had to get caught without a facility somewhere, neat thing about the west coast, there are rest stops every 45-60 miles about up and down the major highway, and there are tons of trees if I ever have to.....guess I am luck, or reserved, or bashful

Stuart... When you get a bit on in years, like I am getting (not there yet) there are only bad moments - never bad days. That experience was but a moment in the stream of life, LMAO.

And it is definitely about the journey, because where I dropped that will never be a good destination.

There is always a tree nearby in England so I never have a problem, despite me being on medication for hypertension which makes me pee. I am always amused when in France, as men just stand in a lay-by or at the side of the road and pee, no pretence, no one cares; the ladies are more constrained and usually make do with a shrub or something to maintain their dignity.

A lady and I use that term loosely I know was stuck on the interstate in a traffic jam and had to go. She opened her door stepped out dropped her pants squatted and let it fly. I heard there was some honking and cheering going on. A few weeks later I was stuck in the same area and had to go. There is nowhere to find any privacy in the section of road so the person I was with suggested I do the same she did. I had a feeling there wouldn't have been any honking or cheering just the sound of handcuffs locking on my wrist and the crowd yelling pervert. The thought of being on the news, in prison and having my name on the sex offenders list gave me the willpower to hold it until I reached a proper area.
