Old Man Winter

Postby moneypit » Tue Mar 03, 2015 5:17 pm

Its March 3rd it was 22 degrees this morning we got 6 inch's of snow. Then the snow turned to freezing rain sleet hail then to rain and the best part of this day is its now 32 degrees the warmest its been since some time last year. I'm so ready for warm weather.

I'm over on the other side of the state and the weather was pretty much the same here but overall I think you have had more snow than we have. the toro 2450E made quick work of the snow / ice mix that was on the ground when I got home from henry's

It is a lovely day today, (4Mar15), for us the 4th day of Autumn/Fall. A very pleasant 25C, still good t-shirt and shorts weather. Someone must tell me how to shovel snow one day in the far distant future

The world is not going to finish today, as it is already tomorrow in Australia and New Zealand, and other islands of foreign nations such as Guam and Samoa.

You guys even change seasons at different dates than the rest of the world. What up wit dat? Everyone else goes by the Solstice/Equinox system which means change on the 20/21 day of March/June/Sep/Dec. You guys go on the 1st of March? That must be because your deer hop around on big fat legs, your bears are tiny and funny looking and you call dogs dingos. Really strange stuff redial, Enjoy your beautiful fall weather. Someday, I had hoped to visit there, but time waits for no man.

To the subject at hand, we did not get the freezing rain or rain... just more snow. The Honda snowblower will move that out of the way pretty quick. If you cannot ride it, then walk behind it, right? At least it is a Honda. And the Goldwing of snowblowers, LMAO
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Ride safe, and smart. Asphalt is like #1 grit sandpaper. Dave

Viking,
You realise we are just about in front of the rest of the world, except New Zealand, Fiji, and some other island States, so we can go whenever we please! We also change to Spring on the 1st of September, Summer on 1st December, and Winter on 1st June. Of course, in the tropics they have only declared two seasons - The Wet, and The Dry. But, the Wet is in summer, and the Dry is in winter, so a lot of Southerners travel north for the winter, like your Northerners travel south!

We do not have bears on Oz, only the Drop Bears. The Koalas are actually marsupials, and have a pouch for their young, the same as Kangaroos, Wombats, and Tasmanian Devils. The world is different, down here, because this island continent got separated from the rest of the world, and was allowed to develop separately.

Enjoy your beautiful fall weather. Someday, I had hoped to visit there, but time waits for no man.

Memories are always much better than dreams!

Do not put it off any longer, travel and see how the rest of the world lives. Why even in this part of the world we nearly speak the same language, with what you Northerners think is an accent, but we understand English in its many forms - Scottish, Irish, English, Welsh, Canadian, American, New Zealand, so dont be frightened to come over and sample our country. (It is big, about the same size as the USA 48 States, but not as big as Canada). You cannot travel the country in two weeks and expect to see it all, so map out what you want to see, and then I could work out an itinerary. Stay warm.
