I have a shinko tire on the front of my 83 aspy, 120/90-18, and I've put over 8,000 miles on it. it wears good and still has plenty of miles left on it. I have no complaints with it. if you go onto eBay, type 331497608945 into the searchbox and it will bring up the item. you can compare its prices to others that are listed.

I put one on the back of my 1981 GL1100. It lasted about 5,000 miles and the center is slick. It rode well, and other than the low mileage I have managed to get out of it, I have no complaints. I should say, I put a Shinko Tourmaster 230 tire on my 1100...

The next tire I'm going to mount is probably going to be a Bridgestone Spitfire (S11)... it's a dual compound tire that I hope will last longer. I don't like changing tires on baggers.

Quite frankly, I find the tire on the 1100 to be too small for what it is expected to do.
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

I can't put the stock tire, 140/90-16 on the back of my 83 aspy. I found that it rubs against the rear caliper brace on the left side, so I had to go one size narrower to a 130/90-16, and it just clears the caliper brace. not sure why, but that's what I had to do.
