Hello for Oklahoma!

Postby Transplantedpatriot » Sat Mar 21, 2015 5:51 pm

Just a quick note to say hello to everyone at Goldwing Docs! I'm a new member and looking forward to meeting some other Goldwing enthusiasts!!! I just brought home my new baby yesterday, a 2005 GL1800. Hope my old girl, a 1988 GL 1500 doesn't get jealous! Safe riding everyone!

Welcome from the Deep Deep South, and trust that your 1800 is as good as the 1500. :D

I'm curious (and a lot of others are as well, as this question comes up often): What do you think of the GL1800 compared to the GL1500?

I just got my new '05 GL1800 and I love it. Much more balanced and smoother than my 1500. The 1500 seems to be a little top heavy but the 1800 is very balanced and sits a lot better. The fuel injection is a huge difference in response time, fuel mileage, and overall performance. I have a hard time badmouthing my 1500, she has given me a lot of joy, BUT, the 1800 is a huge upgrade in my opinion.

You look like a pretty good sized man, so you will have to get back to us again on your comfort level after some longer trips. That is what we hear most about GL1500 versus GL1800. We hear that the space and comfort level dropped as the bike advanced. I have never had a GL1500, but had to change out the seat on my GL1800 to get comfort. So, after you have had it a while, please give us a good comparison blurb for future prospective owners. Thanks, and welcome to the forum.

Well good morning and welcome to Broken Arrow. If you go to Facebook and go to Tulsa Touring Riders you will see lots of ride info. They are heading to Arkansas this Sunday to War Eagle Mill for beans and cornbread and other sites in Arkansas. It will be a all day. You also might check out Passport Oklahoma. It is a State wide run at your leisure and you have till December to finish it. It is put on by K&N Yamaha in Sapulpa. Go by and visit Norm and Lucy, they are the best. If you need more info ,PM me.
