ya know, your giving me ideas for lights I want to put on mine after I get my electrical system fixed up enough to deal with the power draw. im thinking about putting some lights down under the saddlebags as well as down on the bottoms of both side covers and under the fairing headlight, tank shelter and louvers. just haven't decided what color to use since im slowly changing my mind on the repaint color.

Someone just changed out all of his instrument panel lights with LED type, that will help cut down the power used ...

Stuart, im glad im giving you ideas, i like your ideas too, i got blue leds on each side of my bumper, i really like the idea of lights at the bottom of the side covers and under head light, on the tank cover i ran mine from where the tank first gets flat at the very bottom up to about maybe an inch inside the fairing. LITTLEBEAVER, the blue and red leds are 100 percent legal here, as long as they dont flash or pulse. i went to the police station to check before i even put them on, and the made me a copy where it says all lights added to a vehicle or motorcycle are acceptable with the exception of flashing or pulsing blue or red lights, but stationary or non flashing red or blue lights are allowed.

'mornin guys:

Hal, I was thinking about doing the bike in either matte black or gloss black. since I have my rear bumper with all red lights, I was thinking about running red LED's under the bumper, white LED's under the tank above the motor and blue LED's up and around the fairing and on the lowers. sorta give it an "American" theme, and getting a pair of these for murals on the tank http://www.ebay.com/itm/270761413512?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT and maybe a pair of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/391040348124?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT for the sides of the trunk, and one of these for the front fender http://www.ebay.com/itm/321389742800?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT and on the sides of the fairing. not the skulls, just the eagles.

right now, that's not financially feasible. im gonna finish doing what I have to do to this bike as I have some of the necessary parts here and others on their way, do the repaint and the LED's, ride it for one more season then put it up for sale. hopefully i'll get a good price for it, THEN I can go looking for another bike. by the time im finished with it, I should be able to get at least $3,000 for it.

today I am taking a ride to the veterans hospital for another post-op eye exam and fitted for my new glasses. i'll be back later this afternoon.

For us riders, eyes are very important! When you order your new spectacles, have you thought about getting some prescription sunglasses at the same time - that is if you have to wear spectacles all the time for riding. It makes a world of difference having the sunnies made to suit your eyes. I wish you well.

thank you for your well wishes, I appreciate that.

the glasses im getting from the veterans administration are going to have "photo grey" lenses. meaning they will turn dark outdoors in the sunlight, and transpose back to clear when I go inside a building or out of the sunlight. they will be for distance seeing only. I have another pair for reading.

oh im sorry, I thought this was a chatting website and not just a fact finding, information getting or strictly motorcycle questions and answers website. ya know, if that's all that's talked about in here, it will become very mundane and uninteresting. what's wrong with injecting some personal things into it? people have lives that revolve around more than just questions and answers. ITS CALLED LIFE. if someone poses a question to me or asks my opinion on something be it relevant or not, im going to answer it.

now back to the topic of Hal's lights, Hal, your doing a great job on your bike's lighting, I hope mine comes out as good as yours did. and to you littlebeaver, im trying to play nice.

I guess some people just don't care about the trials and tribulations of others except for when it pertains to their motorcycles whether its on topic or not, and some people like you,(Hal and redial), are genuinely concerned for others regardless what the situation is be it motorcycle related or not, but that's ok, I thank you for your kind thoughts and words.

littlebeaver, im not really upset at anyone least of all you, but if you take the personal interactions and thoughts out of the equation what's left is just Q & A's. hell, I can go onto Bing or Yahoo, and yes, even YouTube and search to find answers to any questions in the world, but that's so, how can I say......impersonal?. I like this site for the PEOPLE and NOT just their motorcycles and their dilemmas. there are so many different topics in here to talk about things motorcycle related, but with those topics are some personal things we "riders" have in common, our lives and personal experiences. those add so much to this site and without those, this is no more than just another "Q & A" website. I've learned so much, not only of MY motorcycle, but other's as well and the people that own them. its the PEOPLE that make this site enjoyable not just their bikes.

there are people from all over the world coming in here and asking so many questions and wanting to know how other people deal with their bikes and life in general. there's more than just bike questions. there are topics such as weather, states, where to go, what sites to see in our country as well as what's in other countries to visit, guys talking about their spouses, kids, getting stranded on the side of the road, its a "hodgepodge" of different things and topics that makes this site so interesting, so why is it so bad if I say what's on my mind? do some of you find that motorcycle questions and answers is all there is to life? as far as im concerned,(and maybe its just me), this site needs this mix of personal interactions. I've seen a few guys in here that if you ask them something, they go off onto 3 or 4 paragraphs of things that don't even have anything to do with the question asked of them, but no one says anything about it to them about it. I don't know why im being singled out about it when others do the same thing. maybe im wrong, I don't know.
