How does the cruise control work? Is the cruise light suppose to stay on after you set it?

Not sure what year you are talking about, but on the older models the light would stay on when set. :)

You list a 2001 GL1800 in your profile so you must be asking about this bike. Yes, a cruise indicator light should illuminate on your dash panel. You need to press in the Cruise Control Button, which should turn on a dash light, and then when you set the cruise speed, another should light up.

Do I need to press and hold the cruise button to make the light come on?

Yes the light will stay on after the cruise is set. Mine on the 04 stays on constantly as the button is stuck I guess. But the cruise works correctly.

Do you have an owners manual for your Wing. If not, you might want to get one. You can to up to the header above and click on Manuals and follow the directions or contact:

Helm is the official supplier of Honda manuals.

Yes, you need to push the cruise control button. The light will come on. You then need to push the "set" button, and another light will come on that the cruise is now set. When you hit your brake, the "cruise on" light will go out, but the cuise control light will still be on.....till you turn it off.
