Tornado Alley

Postby littlebeaver » Fri May 08, 2015 10:23 pm

Oh my goodness, my daughter Amanda and I came down to San Antonio yesterday from KC in the jeep, thank goodness, tornado's had hit on I35 in North Texas, just below Gainsville, there was debris blocking the highway and there was a major major backup, we tried taking a exit off the shoulder and it lead up down a country road as we thought we would get around it, flooded roads and water was rising, we backed that sucker up and got out of dodge, we north to gainsville at 12:30 in the early morning, got a room and camped out in the nice dry hotel, made it down Friday at 3pm.....Sunday we get to go through it all over again going back north  ,,,, Tornado's everywhere up I 35 north...Oh dear...I saw this poor soul on a motorcycle that night, poor dude....Man the weather is bad out.... ha ha ha I need to get back to Kansas where it's safe from twisters... Oh and people just can't behave on the interstates, they drive like idiots these days, so close it looks like they are being towed by the vehicle ahead them and going about 90 mph...No respect....

It really has been bad in OK & N Texas for the last couple of weeks.
Many tornadoes, flash flooding from up to 7 inches of rain in a couple of hours and up to softball sized hail.
Add to that several earthquakes we've had recently from all the gas drilling and it's been pretty exciting around here.

One of my favorite t-shirts that I bought the wife years ago:
"Everything was going well until the house fell on my sister.
We all know where the story goes from there"
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

Expect you are home by now, I live in the center of Tornado Alley here in Oolagah Green Country....

The newspaper reported last week, that the WxBureau made a report showing that our tornados used to come up from the Texas/Oklahoma border and then drift up towards us.... Now they seem to be forming up NNW of OKC and coming right into the Tulsa area...

Last year, one went just north of my home and I watched it traverse from NNW to directly east of my house...
