Member search by location

Postby NVSB4 » Wed May 13, 2015 12:05 pm

I've kind of looked around and couldn't find it so I'll ask.

Is there a way to search the locations of members?

It would be nice to be able to search and find other members here that are close to me.

There isn't...and it's not really possible, being that the location field is not standardized. People can (and do) type whatever they feel like in there.

Thanks anyway.

I'll just keep my eye out for those that I see are in riding distance (for normal people that is) and pm them to see about hooking up.

For you, even people in your home state are not necessarily within riding distance, but Arlington is at least central, which could help some.

We have the same problem here. Our home provinces can be large enough that it is a 12 hour ride to visit another member.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

In my State of South Australia, you can go 1500 Km, a bit less than 1000 miles, and still be in the same State. To visit someone in Western Australia, I would need to pack three cut lunches, just for me.

The world is not going to finish today, as it is already tomorrow in Australia and New Zealand, and other islands of foreign nations such as Guam and Samoa.

Yes, you can feel my pain. The State of Texas is about the same size as The State of South Australia.

I probably don't have to go as far to find someone to ride with however.
I was surprised to see how sparse the population was there.
The majority of the 1.6 million live in Adelaide, while in the same size area, the Dallas Fort Worth "Metroplex" (word to indicate that they can't tell where one city stops and another starts) has 6.5 million.
