USPS International postage costs are to rise.

Notice to our international customers.

The United States Postal Service will be raising their rates for all International Priority Mail services by approximately 7%.
This price increase will go into effect on May 31, 2015.

Not the best news for them or for us. :(

It should actually LOWER prices for some parts of Canada - they are moving to a zoned system for Priority Mail, like they use in the US. Previously, sending packages Priority Mail to all of Canada was charged at the same rate, now it will vary depending on how far the package is going.

I don't use Priority Mail for international shipments, it is already too expensive, even before the 7% rate hike.

Shipping has gone through the roof over here too. I used to ship International Signed-for all the time, but as the price crept up and up, we decided that we only send by standard First Class Mail now, unless it's a high value order or the customer specifies full tracking.
In near 6 years we have not lost a single package with standard shipping.

Ditto, I use standard First Class mail for all international shipments. In the many years I've been shipping things, I have never had anything go missing - although shipping things to Italy, Spain and Brazil takes a *really* long time.
