My arai helmet arrived

Well, the world famous Arai helmet was delivered via ups today. As you can see from the pics, I went with white which I thought would help somewhat with visibility issues. I used revzillas measuring chart and went with a large and it fit very nicely.
I went out for a short ride to test out this helmet and here are my observations. Mind you, the weather was really bad in terms of heat and high winds. Gusting around 30 mph and 100 degrees out.
When I first put the helmet on I right away noticed how comfortable it was. Materials used are top notch and very soft. This does have layered tear away cheek pads and I might adjust here but will wear the helmet to break in and then decide.
I always wear earplugs when I ride and opted to not wear any at first just to check the noise level. I was very surprised to find that is was quite noisy, especially with all the vents open , so I pulled over and put in some trusty ear plugs. The helmet interior design allows for the wearing of headsets or ear plugs , so no snags here as it accommodated quite nicely. Now with the ear plugs in I proceeded on one of the main highways and went up to about 85mph, the helmet handled pretty well but the side wind gusts were so horrendous , it was difficult to further evaluate.
I will go out on a calmer day and assess yet again but for now I have to say, it's an amazing helmet.
Also, If you look really closely on the back, that is actually a petrified bat encased in plastic to match the helmet. That part was special order and extra of course. At the right speed it lifts the helmet to a virtual zero gravity, really neat feature and you also get some downdraft which sucks hot air out. Little different looking but hey, I'm a sanctified batman now. BTW, this is the Vector 2 model.

Nice...although after her last helmet (which was white as well), I think my wife would not go for white again - too hard to keep clean! That's why I went for silver for my last helmet, although I think I might try for some hi-vis green next time.

Nice pics. The more I use my Arai, the more I am loving it. The field of vision is amazing too !!
