Hello from Scotland...

Postby laverda » Thu Jul 02, 2015 3:54 pm

Hello everyone,
I currently reside in Scotland though I originate from England.

Along with MANY other bikes I have a couple of early GL1000's.(76/77)

Back in the 80's I had a GL1000 solo & another GL1000 with a chair, they looked a tad rough but were a joy to own/ride.
Here's some pictures of my first two GL1000's :

Then around 1989/90 I bought a GL1500SE, but I never really bonded with it, hence the reason (via many other makes & models) I now own a couple more GL1000s, which I intend to make in to one nice one & use the other as spares.

Welcome to the Forum, from the Deep Deep South. I see you like GL1000s

And how come the handle of "Laverda". Nice bikes, but a bit different.

Enjoy your challenges of getting your GL1000s into shape.

Welcome to the forum. Is that a sidecar or a mini van? ;)

Thanks for the welcome,

Redial my "handle" is Laverda because I own a very beautiful Laverda Mirage.

I just like the GL1000. 8-)

The GL1000's in the picture are now long gone but the "new" one should look less shabby as now have more time & money as my boys are all now grown up.

Tom I found the sidecar a tad large, I did have a few smaller ones but needed more space, I now make do with solo bikes & a car.
The wife also rides, (Guzzi is her choice) & my youngest son has a Suzuki.
