What's in your bags?

Post by NVSB4 » Thu Jul 09, 2015 9:25 pm

What do you normally carry in your fairing pockets, saddle bags & trunk? I mean day-to-day, not for special trips.

To start off:
In my right bag, I have my Frogg Toggs, bike cover and an extra half helmet (never know when you are going to get a passenger).
In the left bag, I have tools (with gloves), extra relay & fuse, small 1st aid kit.
Right pocket, tire guage, pen, insurance & small sunscreen.
Left pocket, sun & clear glasses (both Harbor Freight :D ) and folding hair brush.
Trunk stays clean most of the time for laptop bag or to store jacket & helmet when I'm parked.

Tool Kit that came with bike. Like New owners manual!!!
Sun Glasses.
Sun Screen .
Clean Rag to Wipe the Windshield, The nasty water and paper towels at the pump scratch the windscreen.
Extra Key.
Light Jacket.
If I could easily remove the Tupperware from the bike we wouldn't miss it as we don't need all the storage for what little we carry.

Besides the usual stuff already mentioned I carry a portable fishing kit, small enough to fit in the saddle bag. Holds rod, spinning reel and box for lures. Ya never know!

Extra Key.
I have the owners manual and service manual in pdf on my phone.
Forgot to say that I wrap the extra helmet in a bath towel to not only protect it, but use otherwise if needed
My extra key is hidden elsewhere on the bike.

I went out to the bike last night after posting and found a couple of things that I forgot about in the fairing pocket, a small HF flashlight and earplugs.

After posting this, I saw down at the bottom in "Similar threads" another thread a couple of years ago that asked the same question.
Some had good ideas that I will have to add to my toolkit (Rescue tape, stainless wire).
Some others, I wondered if they were pushing the 20 lb limit a little.

I have the owners manual and service manual in pdf on my phone.

Putting the manual on a phone is a great idea..

My extra key is hidden elsewhere on the bike.

I leave the key in the ignition and the spare is hidden in the glove box with the owners manual...
We live in a rural area with a very low crime rate so no need for locks and stuff like that.
