Sturgis for Wings?

Postby slowridetak59 » Tue Jul 14, 2015 10:20 am

And again a big thank you this is the best site ever tons and tons of information and very friendly people here. I had another quick question is Sturgis still pretty much for Harley owners? I had a ways back that they were allowing any type of bike owners participate. Just a quick thought have to ask when the question surfaces in my brain or it falls through the Swiss cheese holes that have developed in my brain lol thanks for your time and patience Tony

Sturgis is for all motorcyclists. There are a lot of Harleys, but there are many other brands too.

If you got to Sturgis now,it's not very busy and the T-Shirts are cheap. We were there last month and they are getting ready for bike week. I think it will be awesome in August!

I was at Sturgis last year on my '88 1500 GW. No problems whatsoever! People very respectful of one of the best riding/running bikes there and one of the few bikes there with nearly 150,000 on the odometer. Not many 1988 bikes (or older)there of any make or model, let alone one with most of the bells and whistles that the new ones have and still look and rides flawlessly.
There is even a Goldwing "ride" if that type of thing interests you. Go and enjoy the 75th anniversary.

And you will be able to find your bike easily. Unlike all the identical HDs. ;)

If you have never been there during bike week, then you are missing an eventful experience. but you must know lodging of any kind is hard to find this late and extremely expensive. Can be over $400 a night. Plan a year in advance for sturgis bike week and save up your $. The scenery is excellent in the black hills, my Rushmore, crazy horse monument, needles hwy, the bad lands, Devils tower, spearfish canyon, dead wood. Too many other great sites in this area. Better visit 10 days before bike week and if you have the time stay for the experience of bike week. You will be amazed. Good luck and the sky is the limit during those few weeks. Been there and done that 4 times in the last 13 years. :D :D
