5 to 4 wiring

Postby hap2 » Tue Jul 28, 2015 11:22 pm

About how long would it take to wire in a 5 to 4 harness for a trailer? The bike's already wired, but the brake lights don't work on the trailer when hooked up to the bike. Just wondrin about how long id take.

Thanx

You need a 5 to 4 adapter. Wiring it up will take about 1/2 hour or so. It will require removing the seat and wiring in the adapter and puting it in a good place under the seat, then feeding the wire down to your trailer hitch.

I wired mine under the trunk inside the large 'U' trim plate... fit's NICE!
It's also close to the hitch, there's less wires to worry about. ;)

P.O. mounted a radio box in the trunk floor, I had to use shorter screws so not to chafe wires. Little things to look for.

Know its new taste and be loyal, you'll know when to change that oil.
Taste testing as the miles flow, souring as that acid grows.
And don't flirt with dirt or darkened oil, all the faster your engine will spoil.

Sorry, dont have any pics but the lift handles at the rear of the seat on each side have bolts in them that hold the seat in place. Remove them and slide the seat back a bit and it will lift off. There is a procedure on here for removing the seat under How To Articles.
