Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Dang it, I wish I would've checked out this thread sooner! Not only does it sound like fun but I drove right by a police car parked at the Arlington airport on my Goldwing just a few days ago, could've got the picture.
Winging it every chance I get
19,119 miles when I got it from dad Oct 15, 2017 - 20,544 miles and counting as of Apr 22, 2018!

....and if you did that, we would have moved on, lol. I was passed (me going opposite direction) and so I went down to the next turn, came back around and could not find the sheriff. Pesky lil' illusive buggers.

I believe the photo challenge was a motorcycle cop, not a cop car

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Originally it was but then he loosened it up to just a police officer on page 17, which I mistakenly read as police car
No matter though, I found an excuse to go out for a quick spin earlier this morning and the car I had in mind wasn't there anymore.

Seems like we hit a dead end on the Photo with the Po-po. LMAO. The last successful post winner can choose a new tag and get the game moving again.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Even though we have a lot of snow and the warmest it's been in almost two weeks has been 20*F, I saw a motorcycle Sheriff escorting a funeral yesterday. I didn't want to crash the procession and didn't have time to wait for him, but he must have some big cahones.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
I'm going to leave the tag alone for now. At the moment I think the problem is as Mag mentioned - it's too blasted cold and slippery to get the bike out to go find ANYTHING, let alone an LEO. At the moment I wouldn't feel comfortable taking my bike anywhere beyond my own driveway. And Stew - I actually loosened it up twice: once to say any police officer instead of just a motorcycle officer, then later to allow a police car.
So for now the tag stands at your bike with a uniformed police officer (preferably a motorcycle cop, but any uniformed officer will do), or if you just can't bring yourself to talk to an officer
then get a photo of your bike next to a police car. No plain-clothes cops or unmarked cars.
But if nothing happens by the end of March I'll put something else up. However I might decide to recycle one that has been used before.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
good thing there, here in Oologah, we have 4 police cars total.
No motor officers at all.
and it is so cold, the only place you can find them, is inside the doughnut shop, of which, we are blessed with one only.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
This should be easy for you then.....if they are all at the doughnut shop, right? I don't even have that. The local police are 11 miles away down the hill, the sheriff (who I am hoping to get) is up here chasing down druggies and traffic accidents. Once it gets a bit warmer, they park near the school, so easy to track down (I am hoping).

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Tomorrow,
I am going to the Tulsa Gun Show with a friend of mine, he needs to get his display set up before the crowd arrives. We like to get in by 11 and out by 3,,,,
then on Saturday, we sit and talk to all that come by
here is what he does.
http://jimjamescreations.com/gallery/
I am sort of proud of that webpage, I did it all by myself, with a lot of help from the WordPress folks.
If you click on one of the little Thumbnails, it will give you a full screen view of that pix.
then you hit the Back key and go back to the Thumbnails.
Wish I knew why it has the blank areas in the display, all of the thumbnails are supposed to be lined up side by side.... worked on that little problem yesterday for a couple hours, and gave up...

Dang John, Mr. James is very talented. My favorite is the Pecan Turkey. Don't know how he did it but it is beautiful.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Ha! I had a few minutes to spare and the roads were dry so I zipped over and got the picture
Now they normally park this car right off the road where you can get right up to it but of course today it was parked next to a hangar at the SE corner of the Arlington airport which is behind a controlled access gate which I don't have access to. There is a trail that goes around the airport though so I real quick parked on the trail and took the shot.
If this picture qualifies, for the next challenge get a picture of your Goldwing next to an official state welcome sign on an interstate freeway. Of course this will need to be in a place where it's safe and legal for you to pull off for the picture.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
My submission doesn't count 'cause it's from the archives.....
This on the return trip from Michigan a few years ago, the 'Official Route' was US 127 from to US 24, thru Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas to Colorado, finishing up with I-70 from Limon CO to Denver.
US 24 parallels I-70, and there many stretches where the two highways merge. Colorado state line crossing is merged, so these photos are at I-70 CO/KS state line.
We saw rain clouds ahead and the forecast on the radio was for rain, so we thought this a perfect place to get out the rain gear.
For those interested, the 1100 got an avg 29.8 MPG on the entirety of a 2800 mile trip, trailer wt around 500lbs loaded. 3/4 of the trip at 75MPH, 1/4 at 65MPH.
So keep the state line welcome signs coming, they have to be new photos.

They say 98% of all Hardleys ever made are still on the road..... The other 2% made it home.

Here we go. On I-70 at the Indiana-Illinois border.
For good measure the Indiana sign on the way back.
Too much brown everywhere for me. But still it was a good day to ride. Next tag: your bike beside a Corvette. Bonus points for a red split window.

This was taken two years ago in May near Lewisporte in Newfoundland, Canada. Riding weather here is about two months away yet and I’m jealous of those of you who are able to ride already. Think of us in northern climes who are itchin’ to ride.
Be safe everyone!

There is a new guy that posted about problems he was having with the 1100 he just bought. He is from Key West and I'm thinking I would love to have his problems. Sure, they had a hurricane come through last year and it had to be scary. But two bad days in what, 10 years?
We're not even going to hit 50 for the next week.

We just hit mid 50s today, though it was lucky if it was 30 this a.m., and the roads were definitely "slickery", lol.

Finally, it looks like next week things we'll start to improve temp wise. Yea! Maybe we can get the game along. Unless, of course, you live in the northeast and have a foot of snow still on the ground. Some Spring for you eh?

Hopefully we will get a good rain storm soon and get the tons of salt off the roads.
