center stand

Postby tech1 » Fri Jul 09, 2010 5:02 pm

Hello everyone
I'm having a time getting my 86 SE-i off it's center stand. I had an 83 Silverwing and could just give a little push and she'd roll off. I need a jack to get my Goldwing down. Any suggestions? Thanks

Have a look at this - I've put a video on there demonstrating how I do it on mine: How to get a Goldwing on and off the center stand

Thanks but i believe the problem i relooked into is the stand is going too far over center and is setting on the pedal. it even rocks when up there. I will need to put it up on a stand and see why it goes too far over center .
I will post what I find

Check if its bent , i once got one that was bent where it supposed to stop and was going a lil further back making it harder to get it off the stand !!!!

I picked it up and found the center stand cracked and bent up. too far beyond welding up. I bought one off Ebay.
Thanks

Just wanted to add a note about getting an old Wing up on the center stand: thanks to an earlier post about riding rear wheel up on a small piece of 2x6 wood, it makes it a WHOLE lot easier putting the bike up on the center stand, especially if you are only 5'7". Thanks for all the great information on this site. Finally got my '82 GL1100A running this past week, and oh what a joy.
