I recently purchased a set of the above floorboards , kit 4038. I am confused. The instruction paper picture seems to show the hook facing the rear of the board. However, I watched a Kuryakyn installation video and it appeared they had the hook facing the front and actually extending beyond the board. Does anyone know what the function of this part is supposed to be? That may help decide which way to point it since the instructions don't say.
Thank you for any help.

Re: deploy hook associated with Kuryakyn floorboards
I had to look it up on the Kuryakyn website, and the first photo in the instructions there show that it is to be mounted on the front of the left (shift) side floorboard. Regardless, when that floorboard has been raised up (typically done to put the sidestand down) it engages with the shifter to keep you from shifting with the floorboard up. Dunno if that is what it was really designed for, but that seems to be the end result.
