"Shakedown run"...WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!

Postby n5926g » Sun Sep 13, 2015 2:37 pm

Afternoon guy,s for those of you that have been involved in getting the 1500 back on the road,I THANK YOU! After an initial 200.00 investment, new fuel tank, carbs, brakes, and ALOT of TLC,I rode her this morning...7 miles of awesome! Between your help, and the FSM,all I need to do now is put her clothes back on...Total investment as of today is about $1,100.00....Never figured I would get her back together(especially replacing that tank) but a lot of perseverance,
and beer did the trick...again my thanks! :D

Congrats!!! Very cool 8-) I've have right at 2 grand in mine and thought I'd gotten the best deal around. You did even better.
Here's what Grimace looked like for his shakedown run. No way I was going to wait to get the rest of it on either :D

I,m in the process of cleaning, and checking the "electrics" just checked the compressor console, and it works as described...CB is next, and then the Radio console....In my profession I MUST be picky,so this process may take a week or so.There was ALOT of aftermarket stuff on her,and being a "stickler" for OEM,I have had to remove about 10 "in line" wire splices, and repair the harness(es)...I know she is 25 years old,and will never get her back to "showroom condition" but being "that age" she looks awesome...will post some completed pics when she is done.....and BTW...she does have Aintique tags! :D
