finally got my Goldwing

Postby Bruiserman » Tue Sep 29, 2015 4:34 pm

Got the Goldwing home today, didn't ride it, probably going to need a tune up and a good going over before I take it on any serious outings. Overall I'm pretty excited to start wrenching on it. Here is a pic, it's a 77' wing with bags.

Great looking Wing. Looks good with the 1100 bags and trunk. I'll be the first with advice. You may already be aware of this but if you don't know when the timing belts were changed. You need to replace them.

That is a good looking bike.
I like the bags and especially the seat.
I'm sure that you are anxious to get it out and ride.

Cool looking bike. I'm glad you went with the 1000. What made you decide to pick it over the red 1100?

They are so similar and were in identical condition so it basically came down to the look and which one I felt I could work on better. I don't plan on any long trips either so that also came into consideration.

Congrats,
I have a 77 standard project that's about 70 percent road ready.
It's been a real parts ****. It was a 1 owner basketcase that had sat for over 10 years.
Their pretty hard to find parts for and very pricey even for used stuff when you do.
Ebay is your friend, or maybe it's your enemy I haven't quite decided yet. :P
Your looks pretty near roadworthy, enjoy.

Our own RBGERSON has a lot of parts for the GL1000's here
You guys could always check and see if he has something you need.
