Early Xmas present

Postby NVSB4 » Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:11 pm

I've been bitching about my 92 Interstate since I bought it in April.
So much so that SWMBO said that I could buy myself an early Xmas present.
So, I'm now the proud owner of a new 2 me '96 SE.
With only 47k miles, the price was right at $4k, so I couldn't pass it up.
She isn't as glamorous as the chromed out '92, but she's functionally a lot better.
Just don't tell the wife that I've already got a wish list started.

Congratulations. Why not a change of wardrobe between the two?

In the back of my mind I knew that I would be changing as soon as I could.
I knew that anything new, just because of the change in the bike, would be a hard sell.
The wife and I just bought new jackets & helmets, so I made sure that they would "coordinate" (grey / silver) with just about any color Wing I might find.
I haven't stayed married for 35 years without thinking ahead.

LOL Actually I was referring to changing all the chrome goodies from the old to the new.

I thought about changing out some of the chrome, but with the new bike being white, some would be impossible (like the side covers).
Removing a lot of the other chrome that the PO had added would be too destructive to make it worthwhile.
I also get to basically start over and do it my way this time.

I still would like to find someone to add some pin striping.
I like the look of the current and think some of the big white areas on the new bike could use something.

Very nice ride. It is always nice when the other half initiates the upgrade.
