I need a little help

Postby tandem54 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 11:20 am

Hi, I’m not sure if this is where to post this but here goes.
My name is Roger Ellis (60) after having Colorectal Cancer in 2007, going through 28 weeks of chemo, 28 weeks of radiation and surgery and another 26 weeks of chemo, I had to retire on SS disability, which was not planed and we were not ready for it. I could not hold a job and work each day. I am free of cancer now and we have moved to Arizona (with the help of family) to get away from the long/harsh winters in Wisconsin.
My wife (Katherine 62) is also retired on SS disability, and we were hoping for “A new life” in Arizona.
Because of the cost of moving and the cost of selling our home we live pay check to pay check.
We are finding it very hard to pay back the medical bills we have incurred.
With the high cost of hospital bills, Prescription medications, and doctor fees for the both of us, we are having a hard time paying these bills.
On October 15th our 32 year old son who lived with us passed away. This makes 2 of our 3 children who have died. We lost our daughter in 2001 to a drowning accident, she was 27.
Now we don’t have any money for our son’s funeral or expenses, we/he had no insurance.
We need to transport him back to Wisconsin, to be next to our daughter that he loved so much.

The reality is, however, that everyone needs help at some point in their lives.
If you are able to give any amount, no matter how big or small, the good it will do our family is immeasurable.

We have never asked for help before and we hate asking now, but we do need help, and we are not sure of our future.
Thank you for any donation you can give, god bless.

I’m not one to complain but, if all you want to do is reply to people with motorcycle posts then I have a problem.
I have been a member of this forum for years and not one person has said a condolence for my son dyeing!
If all that is to do with forum is about bikes then I am done with this forum and will NOT post or follow it anymore!!
It’s a sad day when no one care’s about you if you are not posting about a damn bike!!!!

Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I don't know how I missed this message! Our long-time member needs some help people, please step up and do what you can.

My father also suffered through (and BEAT) colorectal cancer, and I know it's not a good thing. And then to lose your grown son on top of it...after having already lost your daughter!

I just cannot imagine such a horror, and you and your wife have my overwhelming condolences. I'll send you something out tonight when I get home from work, and I urge others to help out as best they can as well.

Please accept my apology for not responding previously. It was not intentional.

I'm going to pin this message for a while to the top of the forum, so that people won't overlook it like I managed to.

People, if you can help out our good friend tandem54, even if it's just some words of encouragement, please do so.

Tandem,

I have read your message and have responded to your request, I do hope others also get on board, please do not leave because of a lack of responses, I think it takes a while for people to absorb any given situation and to know what or how to respond.

My sincere condolences for your recent losses, and I hope things improve for your family.

Regards. ;)

Roger, I apologize as this is the first time I have seen this post thanks to WingAdmin.

I don't have words to express my feelings over your losses. I am 67 and have two sons and cannot imagine loosing either one. On top of that you have fought and beaten cancer. I wish I had the opportunity to meet you.

Just a thought on the medical bills, you might want to see an attorney and explore options for payment, setting up a payment system, or whatever he/she might suggest. No I am not a lawyer and try to avoid them, but your situation it might be a good thing.

If I can help or just be a listener please contact me by PM and we will exchange phone numbers or emails.

Like the others, this is the first time I have seen this post, I am sincerely sorry for the loss of both your children, have sent money via Paypal and hope both you and your wife manage to cope with this tremendous loss. Don't think I could ever cope with loosing one of my children. My thoughts are with you both and I hope you raise enough money to get your son to his final resting place.

Sincere condolences

Gary

Please know how much your support, love and hope means to our family. Thank you for your contribution; it is appreciated beyond words.
We sincerely appreciate your donation and help.
On Monday 11/09/2015 we took our son James Edward Ellis’s ashes in Milwaukee, A place he loved and enjoyed the view of the city very much. We spread him in Lake Michigan off the Jutty and with heavy hearts we said good bye to our son for the last time.
It is always a terrible thing to lose someone you love so much, and it is indescribable when that is your child.
My wife and I will never forget him or Irene our daughter, all we can do is show our love for our daughter, and our 2 fantastic granddaughters, and all the family and friends we have.
Please tell everyone you love that you love them! Life is too fleeting and your love ones need to know that you love and care for them.
We thank each and every one of you for, gifts, calls.

Roger, I'm very sorry for your loss and I hope your medical situation improves. I wish you the best of luck. I'm a new member and a retiree near your age. Do you know of this "go fund me" website I've seen in the news? I know nothing else about it or how it works but it may be worth checking out... Anyone on here know how that works?

My sincere condolences and prayers for you and your family, I just found out that I have prostrate cancer and am going in for surgery in a couple of weeks, but this is nothing compared to what you have gone through. I'll be praying that life will greatly improve from here on out for you and your family.

I am so sorry for the loss of BOTH of your childern, I wish there where some words I could say to make the pain go away for you. . . . Unfortunatly we live on SSI also, so we have no extra money to send, but you are in our prayers.

I'm also sorry to hear of your loss, a child is never easy at any age. Only have one daughter and her loss would be hard. May the peace of the Lord be with your family.

Belated condolences from me also.

I too know the high cost of med-bills.
On a fixed income of near zero, I simply do not have the means to help others.

I just saw your post tonight and sent a small donation your way. There's a couple in our local GWRRA chapter that has also outlived 2 of their 3 children. It's unimaginable to me. I will send up prayers for you.

After mom first then dad passed away we emptied and prepared the house for sale.
Since I was the main person overseeing the finalizing of the house preps, I had the opportunity to give a final farewell.
In the empty house I said out loud, "Good night mom and dad, have a wonderful time together again and I'll see you when my time comes."
Ya, I teared but also smiling, knowing they were together again.

"Goodbye" feels too final. "Good night" keeps the door open for later.
After all, they are Resting In Peace. Good night.

.. .. just sharing my thoughts.
