some of us are lucky and get to ride year round. I have been fortunate, I have not had a day that it was too cold to ride. I have chose not to ride a few times because it was cold but that's not the same thing
I feel for those of you that have to park your bikes for the winter, I remember when I lived in Atlanta there would be a time that you didn't want to ride due to snow or freezing rain

Rain Monday here put me in my truck but I rode and got wet that afternoon. This morning it was 36 when I left the house, not sure where that put the windchill at ? Gotta ride!

I'm still riding. Got a new to me '94 Goldwing so I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can before I have to park it. I'll admit I am a fair weather rider. Didn't use to be that way but cold and wet weather bother me a lot more than it used to. Getting older whether I want to admit it or not.
Long as the day time temps are in the mid fifties or above, I'll ride when I don't have to blow leaves out of the yard.

Was out for about 3 hours today. Flannel lined jeans, several layers and a heated seat help quite a bit. If it is above 45F, I'm good for a ride. Looks like I might be riding at least through early December. The only tricky part is to get the bike to storage before snow & salt hit the roads. 8-)

Monday I rode 450 kms.(280 mi.) It was 5ºC/41ºF when I left in the morning. I didn't want to get out of bed. Once I was riding it was great, 10ºC/50ºF by mid-day and sunny, then cool again by the time I returned home. There's alternating, day to day, sun and rain and 10ºC in the forecast for the next week or 10 days, but who knows. No snow in the forecast, so that's good, but I'm afraid it's coming to an end soon.

Come on spring....................................Dave

If I'm not on the Goldwing, I'm on the Burgman. The only time I don't ride is if the roads are slush or snow covered. I'm definitely not a fair weather rider.

I don't have a problem with cold weather. I can dress for that. The problem is always snow and ice. Just putting around town isn't so bad, if the weather begins to turn nasty, you can just go home. But if I'm planning on a significant cruise somewhere, I keep a very close eye on weather forecasts, especially radar and satellite maps. I don't like getting caught 150 miles out with the weather turning bad.

I tend to ride more this time of year than in the summer.
The highs aren't supposed to drop down around 50 until late December, so not hard to dress warm for that.
The hard part is when it's 110 out during the summer and you try to gear up to stay safe.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

Definitely still riding! This date last year there was snow on the ground, and two years ago as well, so I'm taking it while I can still get it!

I keep riding until the salt trucks show up on the streets, then my bike is in the garage getting upgrades done until the weather breaks and we get a couple of good rain storms to wash the salt off the roads. :D :D

Live Near Atlanta - ride year round - coldest last year was 21F. Here’s a movie I made a few years back. At the 5:30 mark it gets scary -

It's getting colder here in New Jersey, and several of my friends have parked their bikes already, but I'm still riding. Sunday morning I expect to hit the road for a while, at least 50 miles or so. Maybe quite a bit more.
I'll continue to ride until the first snowfall. Then the bike is parked 'til the first good rain in the spring.
Why? 'Cause in Jersey they slather the roads in SALT when it snows. There is NO WAY I'll take my bike out in that crap and end up with corrosion on my pretty machine.

hey offcenter, i know what your talking about. i used to live up in boonton and grew up in Elizabeth right across the highway from Newark airport off rt 1 so i know what the road conditions are up there during the winter months. not only the salt, but the sand too. nothing worse then riding your bike and hitting a patch of sand to make your ride more nerve wracking and dangerous.

Planned on going riding today. High is supposed to be about 68°F today. Beautiful, nearly cloudless day with light, warm southerly breeze, and I'm stuck in the house with a cold.
I was hoping I could swallow enough over the counter cold remedies that I'd feel better. Then I realized if I did that I wouldn't be 100% so it's not worth the risk. Even living out in the country.
So I'll just read something or watch TV. There will be another day. :-)
