Non experience riders

Postby mmiller0910 » Tue Dec 01, 2015 2:19 pm

I let my buddy drive my 86 Goldwing, what a mistake. I was buying a HD sportster from him. So I was riding the sportster and he was driving my wing. Well 20 minutes in to the ride and one to many sharp curves, he drove it into a person's yard with the front brake on and drove the left front fairing right into the ground.

Point of the story -- never let anyone else drive your bike!!!!

that's a shame. hope he wasn't hurt too bad and it didn't cost too much to repair your bike.

There's a lot of difference between a Wing and a Sportster.
Hopefully you won't have a problem getting him to fix it.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

Well I have purchased a used fairing, false tank, that i will prep for repaint. I am going to repaint all the plastics also. I also got new mirrors, windshield also. So when I am done it will look new again. The no one rides it but me.

NVSB4-- you couldn't be mote right....I did warn him that it was a very heavy bike.

Roadwanderer2- ruptured spleen....but he is OK now.

Buying a Sportster?????? After owing a wing. The last Sportster I rode rattled my bones apart and made my rearend hurt. Most bikes ride rough after you get used to the Goldwing but the sportster is rough after anything.

Golden Highway, mid life crisis...lol always wanted a harley. But My Goldwing is an 86 intestate and I love long rides on it. Use it to commute to work with 2 hours round trip. Harley was for my roads here in the Poconos, very curvy and hilly roads. The wing sometimes is hard to manage those curves, as we all know. I ride with a group of guys that have Enduros and just have a hard time trying to stay at thier pace. I love my Goldwing!! And would never get rid of it. Just enjoying both worlds!!.... I just love to ride!!!!!
