Hi folks. I have been without a wing for 3 years. A relative told me of an '87 that the owner had to quit riding due to illness. It sounds like it has been sitting in the barn for 4 to 5 years. The bike only has 62,000 km. (38,500 mi) on it. The carbs were cleaned in 2011, but the bike did not move that year. The owner passed away in 2012. It has sat since 2010/11 as near as family could tell me. Sitting has shown a bit of wear on passenger back rest. A bit of a rip in it and is not as pliable as it should be. Mostly just rusty bolts. It is in great shape aesthetically. Here's the question....they are asking $3,000.00 CDN. What is a fair price for a bike like this, and what problems "might" there be.
I look forward to your feedback.

If it was in good running condition then that would be a far price. Things to look for does the motor turn over or is it locked up,take a good look at all the wiring if its been in a barn you may have damage from critters. Also remember all fluids and timing belts will need to be replaced, plus tires. Are the breaks locked up does she roll good, check the fuel tank does it have rust and goo in it. Like you said it sat for some time, I would pull the side covers and the seat off and give it a good look over. All these things are easy to fix except a locked up motor, all these things can be used to come to a far price that you both can live with. Good Luck------------------------------------Hal
